A Failed Confession
As Xiao refused once again, Yu stood up expressionlessly and walked out of the hall. Though he felt weighed down by emotion, he never forgot to remain vigilant, always protecting Xiao’s safety.
There was nothing he could do about it—he was hopelessly in love with her! Love is like that; giving may not yield immediate returns, but Yu believed that with steadfast persistence, the outcome would change in time.
Love is a prolonged match, and victory favors those who endure until the end.
So now, the long battle of love between Xiao and Yu began, coinciding with the end of the film. All the audience members left their seats in an orderly manner, slowly making their way to the exit.
Someone glanced carelessly to the side and stopped in a daze, his attention caught by something behind. His sudden halt caused those behind him to react too late, resulting in a chain collision.
Yu reacted quickly, pulling Xiao aside just in time to spare her from the mishap. He looked ahead, a chill emanating from him, his sharp eyes narrowed.
He gave off an air both dangerously alluring and enigmatic. The collision sparked a flurry of curses and complaints around them.
The staff, accustomed to such scenes, still couldn’t help but note how eventful the day had been. They hurried to restore order.
When Yu and his companions emerged, the scene stunned everyone once more. My goodness! What astonishing people! So perfect they seemed almost divine.
Those present knew they would never forget this moment. Even years later, the memory would remain vivid—a scene that shook the soul.
Nine figures, elegant and noble as deities descended to earth, strode across the red carpet. In looks and bearing alike, they were second to none.
Their allure was unmatched, leaving a deep impression on all who saw them—an indelible mark in memory. Photographs may fade and lose their clarity, but human memory only grows sharper and more profound with time.
And yet, these figures, regarded as gods, simply walked out of the hall and vanished through the cinema doors.
I suppose this group has unwittingly saved the theater an astronomical sum in advertising. From today on, this cinema would surely become even more famous. Perhaps, next time, they’d be granted free admission as a token of gratitude.
Amid the lively crowd, Xiao suddenly let out a light laugh, drawing curious glances from all around.
“Look!” she said. Everyone followed the direction of her pointing finger.
“Huh? There’s nothing special,” Hui remarked, looking ahead. The glass reflected their figures, but nothing seemed out of the ordinary.
“It’s the rhythm of happiness! Let’s be cheerful!” Xiao’s words instantly dispelled the lingering gloom, reviving the warmth among them.
Yes, they had come out in search of joy. Hearing her, smiles bloomed on everyone’s faces.
The already bustling commercial street seemed even livelier, filled with renewed energy. Happiness, after all, was just that simple—a thought that welled up in Yu’s heart as he looked at Xiao.
A stomach rumbled audibly; no one could tell whose it was.
“Let’s get something to eat!” Bingling suggested with a gentle smile, rescuing everyone from their embarrassment.
