Chapter 29: I Really Like You Guys Bringing Me All This Experience!
“Di Yi, at your service, Young Master.” A burly man with a cold expression bowed slightly to the elegantly dressed young man.
“Mm.” The young man waved dismissively, his tone aloof.
The burly man straightened, standing a step behind the Young Master, asking no questions about why he had been summoned.
The young man’s gaze fell on the Treasure Pill Pavilion, a fierce glint flashing in his eyes. “Hmph, no one who dares to provoke me has ever been born. Soon, you’ll learn the consequences of crossing me!”
He spoke with venom, convinced that Chen Xiang was the one who had attacked him. Even if he wasn’t, anyone who dared insult him would not escape easily.
With two guards in tow, he strode into the Treasure Pill Pavilion.
Behind the counter, a female cultivator in the Qi Refining stage hurried forward in fear as soon as she saw the young man enter. “Young Master Zhuang, welcome. Is there anything I can do for you?”
The young man snorted contemptuously and asked, “Just now, a pair of cultivators—a man and a woman—came in. Which floor did they go to?”
Cold sweat broke out on the woman's forehead. Revealing a guest's whereabouts would incur severe punishment, but the man before her was not someone she could afford to offend. Torn, she bit her lip anxiously.
“Hmph! How dare you defy me?” The young man’s anger flared as he saw her hesitate. Even a receptionist wouldn’t obey him—perhaps his reputation in the city wasn’t strong enough!
“I—I wouldn’t dare. The two went up to the third floor. I am only bound by my duties. Please, Young Master Zhuang, do not be angry.” She bowed deeply, revealing Chen Xiang and Li Qin’er’s whereabouts.
Satisfied that she had spoken, the young man’s temper eased somewhat. Though his influence in Tianxuan City was considerable, even he dared not provoke the Treasure Pill Pavilion—a sect of great power across the continent. This was merely a branch, but still beyond his reach. Usually, he made trouble here only within limits.
“Good. Up to the third floor.” Sparing the receptionist, he led his two guards upstairs. He had intended to go to the third floor anyway. Though only at Foundation Establishment, his authority was substantial.
Li Qin’er watched Chen Xiang anxiously, her face hidden beneath her bamboo hat.
She’d seen troublemakers before, but never one so adept at causing trouble. Now, more people would surely take notice of them.
Li Qin’er tugged at Chen Xiang’s sleeve.
Chen Xiang turned, grinning, “Hey, Qin’er, if you want to buy anything else, tell me. If these spirit stones aren’t enough, I have more. These useless rocks are heavy—I can hardly stand to look at them.”
---
“Ding! Congratulations, host ‘Chen Xiang’, for successfully flaunting wealth. You have attracted the admiration of cultivators and gained twenty reputation points.”
Hearing the voice in his mind, Chen Xiang threw a flirtatious glance at a nearby maid. Her cheeks flushed, eyes sparkling as she lowered her gaze, unable to meet his eyes.
Li Qin’er’s face darkened. Only a few in the hall ignored them with disdain; the rest eyed them hungrily, as though they were prized meat. Leaving today would not be easy.
The Treasure Pill Pavilion was owned by several sixth-grade alchemists, backed by the royal family. Fighting was forbidden within, so it was still fairly safe.
“Master, I don’t need anything else. Let’s leave quickly,” Li Qin’er whispered.
“Oh? Nothing else you want? Fine, let’s try the next shop, haha!” Chen Xiang laughed, scooping up the spirit stones from the table.
He hadn’t expected that complaining about the heavy spirit stones would earn him dozens of reputation points. These stones weren’t so useless after all.
And he’d discovered yet another way to show off—truly steady.
As a flash of light flickered, three figures emerged from behind the curtain. It was the richly dressed young man and his guards, whom they’d encountered at the entrance. Behind him was another, plain in appearance, his aura restrained, dressed only slightly less finely than the young master.
Upon entering, the young master scanned the room, instantly spotting Chen Xiang, who wore a faint smile and walked toward them, head held high.
A hint of viciousness flickered in the young master’s eyes. Turning to Di Yi, he said in a low voice, “Di Yi, see that man? I want his head before the day is done.”
Di Yi glanced at Chen Xiang, extending his spiritual sense to gauge his cultivation—third layer of Core Formation.
Di Yi nodded, responding coolly, “Yes,” and fell silent.
He then glanced at Li Qin’er beside Chen Xiang. Though her face was hidden, her flawless figure and the smooth, pale skin of her hands hinted at a striking beauty, stirring something within him.
He turned to Di Yi and issued another command, “Seal the cultivation of the woman beside him and bring her to my chamber.”
Di Yi swept another glance at Li Qin’er, seeing through her cultivation, and answered indifferently, “Yes.” No matter the request, he would fulfill the young master’s wishes; anything else was none of his concern.
Li Qin’er frowned as the young master appeared. Trouble had found them yet again.
---
She noticed Di Yi immediately—he hadn’t been there before. His presence now was not simple. Her spiritual sense couldn’t detect his cultivation, which meant he was stronger than herself and concealing it skillfully.
The seductive woman felt a surge of annoyance. Why had the young master returned?
He didn’t approach Chen Xiang directly, certain that with Di Yi present, the task was handled. A smile spread across his face, a lustful glint in his eyes, as he walked toward the alluring woman.
Chen Xiang paid him no mind, likely forgetting he’d dealt with him earlier. With Li Qin’er, he left the third floor. If there was nothing more, it was time to find another place to show off.
Di Yi watched them leave, then exchanged a glance with Di Jiu, emotionless, and followed them out.
Di Jiu caught Di Yi’s gaze and nodded gently, but did not follow. His duty was to protect the young master.
After Chen Xiang departed, a few others in the hall could not resist and also left the third floor.
The young master’s smile remained, his face unreadable, but his eyes roamed the seductive woman’s body. He’d desired her for a long time, but had never succeeded. Though she was only a Core Formation cultivator, her status was different, and with the Treasure Pill Pavilion’s protection, he could not use force.
“Young Master Zhuang, welcome. What brings you to the third floor today?” The woman managed a strained smile.
Each time he visited, he sought a chance to take advantage of her, making her deeply uncomfortable. Yet she had to endure—he was the city lord’s son. Without the Pavilion’s protection, she would have long since become his plaything.
To rid herself of him, she could only cultivate diligently, hoping to reach Nascent Soul and ascend to the fourth floor, or transfer to another branch.
Outside the Treasure Pill Pavilion, in the plaza, Chen Xiang stopped and called out loudly with a smile, “I appreciate you experience-givers! Come on out. I’ll give you one hand, and be sure to deliver experience diligently in the future so I can level up faster!”
“To be continued…”
