Chapter 32: The Data of the Zero Beast
However, regardless of which secondary profession one chooses, materials are required for crafting, and materials do not appear out of thin air. The materials needed for these professions can be found almost anywhere, but the greatest sources are, after all, the various minor monsters and bosses.
Fifth: Wild Bosses are now available.
Wild Bosses are similar to dungeon bosses in that they are both formidable opponents. However, unlike dungeon bosses, Wild Bosses do not appear within dungeons; instead, they manifest in the wilderness—specifically, in the leveling zones outside of dungeons.
Moreover, according to the announcement, Wild Bosses are far stronger than dungeon bosses. For example, adjacent to the Agumon Plains leveling zone lies the Wrath of Agumon dungeon. No matter how powerful or unreasonable the dungeon boss may be, it is merely a Digimon in its growth phase.
Yet, as stated in the announcement, Wild Bosses surpass the level of the monsters in their respective zones. That is to say, in zones populated by Digimon in their growth phase, Wild Bosses will be at the mature phase; in mature zones, they will appear as perfect-phase Digimon; in perfect-phase zones, the bosses will be at the ultimate phase. As for what level of Wild Bosses will appear in ultimate-phase zones, the announcement has not yet specified.
With Wild Bosses being so powerful, their rewards are naturally substantial. However, the announcement did not detail exactly how substantial those rewards might be.
Sixth: The Arena is now open.
Within the Arena, players can engage in PvP battles with one another. Victors earn arena points, which can be exchanged for rewards at the arena shop. With enough arena points, even legendary artifacts can be obtained.
Additionally, the Arena is not divided by server regions, meaning it is currently the only channel through which players from different servers can encounter each other.
“Digital Source World” divides servers according to certain geographic regions; if a country is large enough, it receives its own server, but smaller countries typically share a server with their neighbors. Until server mobility is enabled, the Arena remains the sole means of cross-server interaction.
Seventh: The Guild system is now available.
Players may establish guilds by paying a certain amount of gold. Upon successfully founding a guild, one receives a piece of guild territory. Through their efforts, players can develop their guild territory into one of the main cities of the game.
Eighth: …
This update actually introduces a great many features, but the most important ones are those listed above: the removal of the aggro mechanic, the addition of Wild Bosses, the introduction of player professions, the launch of the Arena, and the emergence of new evolution modes.
At this moment, after thoroughly reviewing the update notes, Yimon closed the system panel and turned his attention to the attributes of his Digimon, Yimon. Currently, Yimon’s stats were as follows:
Digimon: Yimon
Type: Unknown
Attribute: Unknown
Attack Power: 400
Defense Power: 380
Health: 1000/1000
Overall Combat Power: 170
These were the numbers for Yimon. They seemed somewhat low, but upon closer inspection, an overall combat power of one hundred seventy already placed him in the range of mature-phase Digimon. Yet Yimon was still technically in the growth phase.
Originally, Yimon had planned to let his Digimon evolve naturally and at its own pace, but the latest system update had brought him an unexpected delight. Without a doubt, he now chose the fusion evolution of player and Digimon.
Only in this way could he personally participate in battle. As a Digimon, he had always been forced to watch other Digimon fight from the sidelines, unable to do anything himself. Who else could truly understand such frustration?
Still, there was no need to rush; he had many tasks yet to attend to. After leaving the dungeon, he had not yet sorted through his dungeon loot. Once he did, the results were as follows:
Gaomon’s Gauntlets (Excellent · Rare)
Type: Gauntlets
Requirements: Overall combat power above one hundred or mature-phase Digimon
Attack Power: +100–150
Power Strike: This is Gaomon’s skill, with a one percent chance to trigger. When triggered, it deals damage twice the wielder’s attack power, up to a maximum of ten thousand points of damage.
Durability: 20/20
These gauntlets were crafted by Digimon aspiring to emulate Vulcanusmon, the God of Forging, using Gaomon’s data. They can be directly merged into a Digimon’s body, requiring no additional conditions.
Gaomon’s Resentment (Excellent · Rare)
Type: Accessory
Requirements: Overall combat power above one hundred or mature-phase Digimon
Attack Power: +50–100
Gaomon Puppet: In each dungeon, this accessory summons a Gaomon puppet to command.
Durability: 20/20
Digimon: Gaomon Puppet
Type: Beastman
Attribute: Data
Attack Power: 1000
Defense Power: 2000
Health: 1000/1000
Durability: 100/100
This accessory, crafted by Digimon aspiring to Vulcanusmon using Gaomon’s data, can be equipped by either Digimon or players and activates its skill manually.
From this, it was clear that all equipment previously tied to stamina had been revised. Overall combat power now served only as a qualification requirement.
As for the money in the purse, Yimon had already opened it without delay, since there was no need to wait.
The Agumon Digiegg was still incubating. According to the official explanation, since this was Yimon’s second Digimon, the incubation would take extra time. However, as he had begun incubating it yesterday after leaving the dungeon, a considerable amount of time had already passed, so it would soon hatch.
In fact, aside from these items, Yimon had retrieved two more things from the treasure chest.
As he considered this, Yimon took out the two items. One was a token; its front was inscribed with the word “Guild” in digital runes. The back depicted a landscape.
Upon close inspection, one could faintly discern the silhouette of a Digimon hidden within the landscape, though its exact identity remained unclear.
This was, in truth, a guild token!
To found a guild, in addition to enough gold, the guild token was the most essential item. Yet the recent announcement had omitted mention of these, so few would have noticed.
And finally…
Yimon’s gaze fell upon his other palm, where he held a grayish bead containing the data of Zeromon…
