Ren Yin reached square twenty-five and, without incident, killed two young wild boars.
The silent young man threw three dice but stopped at thirty-four, unable to attack Li Xiaoyue.
Li Xiaoyue threw one die and landed on forty.
There were 145 dice left.
“It’s time to draw an ability,” she said.
Wu Hui replied, “Go ahead. At this distance, I don’t think the ability will be weak.”
The next moment, he felt something linking to him; Ren Yin also suddenly looked up, clearly sensing it as well.
Once both agreed to the link, Li Xiaoyue’s voice sounded in their ears: “This is the ability I gained—Mental Link. But it doesn’t seem to help much in combat... What should I do next?”
“There’s not much else to do,” Wu Hui said. “We can only rely on luck.”
Ren Yin agreed, “That’s right. At most, we can help you figure out the most cost-effective dice throws, or assist with puzzles. But if luck is bad, there’s really nothing we can do.”
Both spoke with cold, calm expressions, giving no thought to Li Xiaoyue’s emotional state.
They had used about a quarter of the dice so far, and the furthest had covered about half the board. It looked like the game could last for two rounds at most. Considering fewer players would remain, some might get to go further.
Li Xiaoyue felt utterly helpless. At least, after spending half her points, Number Seven’s gaze became less intense.
Now Wu Hui was the one under scrutiny.
The blond threw one die; the chubby boy threw three. They arrived at squares thirty-four and fifty-two respectively, both special status squares.
Wu Hui turned and locked eyes with Number Seven, who took it as provocation. Wu Hui ignored him, threw one die, and landed at forty-five, facing two crocodiles, with water suddenly appearing on the ground.
Li Xiaoyue and Ren Yin both worried for Wu Hui, but he calmly raised his hand to freeze the water and sent two flying knives straight into the open jaws of the crocodiles, killing them easily. He was the most effortless monster slayer so far.
Number Seven watched in silence, realizing that with Wu Hui’s skills, he might not be able to outplay him.
Ren Yin continued with one die. She was lagging behind, but rushing forward didn’t seem to offer much benefit—while Wu Hui could still handle the monsters ahead, they were already getting too strong for her. This time, she landed at square thirty, receiving monster reward settlement.
Having killed two wild boars before, she gained two hundred points.
The silent young man was at square twenty-nine; he always threw three dice at a time, but his luck was poor, so he was now behind Ren Yin, with only fifty points.
Just then, Ren Yin arrived in front of him.

Upon landing, Ren Yin was fully prepared, with spider silk blades circling around her.
Number Seven drew his knife, sneering at Ren Yin, “You newcomers have no idea what I’ve been through! Back on that bus, to survive, I could have killed everyone on board! Cooperation? It’s a joke!”
“Between people, it’s pure competition—whoever grabs more survives!”
No sooner had he spoken than he lunged at Ren Yin with his knife.
Sound waves activated, spider silk wrapped around Number Seven’s limbs.
The resonating sonic attack slowed Number Seven’s movements abruptly, the blades piercing his limbs.
This sonic attack came from a club king card, initially level three. After leaving the game, Ren Yin had added skill points to it, so now it was level four sonic mastery. The effect was enough to nauseate and damage internal organs.
Number Seven had underestimated her; otherwise, he wouldn’t have been so powerless against Ren Yin. Now he could only hastily throw two dice to flee.
Square thirty-eight was for card draws, but he clearly lacked the points. After catching his breath, Number Seven climbed up and checked his wounds, “Heh... Interesting.”
Wu Hui turned to him, “Here, everyone is just level-one players. You have no overwhelming advantage. If we join forces to restrict you, you have no chance.”
He still hoped Number Seven would behave. After all, with only fifty points, there was little to gain by killing him.
Li Xiaoyue threw three dice again. She didn’t dare throw just one; she’d likely land in a monster pile, which would be certain death. Actually, not necessarily—she might land near Wu Hui, lose points, or reach a purchase square.
1+1+2, 4
Crocodiles appeared again, and Wu Hui dealt with them as before, dispatching them efficiently. Li Xiaoyue breathed a sigh of relief, hearing Wu Hui in the mental link say, “No need to be so tense; if you land next to me, I can help you. From now on, we’ll all choose to throw one die. You still have a movement card, guaranteeing at least two rounds of safety.”
“Alright.” Li Xiaoyue felt the protector her sister had introduced was truly reliable.
Wu Hui simply thought that the mental link ability was very useful. It should have appeared in the fourth or fifth zone. Now that Li Xiaoyue had it, she would make a good support in the future.
There were 134 dice left.
The blond finished his turn, arrived at square thirty-seven, faced a puzzle, calculated left and right but couldn’t answer, sought help in vain, and lost his points, dying.
It was already amazing he'd survived this long; his luck was not bad.
So far, three people had died.
The game itself wasn’t very difficult—simple rules, with strategy accounting for two parts, combat ability for three, and luck for five. Of course, combat prowess could be enhanced through strategy and luck here.
Wu Hui’s luck had been good so far. He glanced at the unknown blessing in his status, thoughtful.
The chubby boy at the front sighed, “How annoying! Can’t we have games that require more intelligence? This luck-based stuff is pointless.”

Wu Hui agreed wholeheartedly.
But no matter how much he complained, Number Two still had to throw the dice, landing at fifty-seven.
The chubby boy gestured for a while, sweat beading on his forehead. Apparently, he was solving a puzzle. Soon he relaxed, his points increasing by five hundred.
Fifty, one hundred, two hundred, five hundred—the last zone probably offers over a thousand?
Wu Hui threw one die, got one, landed at forty-six, killed two black bears. Ren Yin threw two dice, rolled seven, landed at thirty-seven, solved the puzzle successfully, and gained two hundred points.
During her puzzle-solving, Number Seven tried to interfere, but his physical condition was clearly not up to prolonged conflict; after a moment’s entanglement, he threw one die and fled.
So arrogant before, now so battered.
Li Xiaoyue had no mood to mock him, threw one die, moved three squares to forty-eight, and surprisingly received two hundred points from monster reward settlement. It seemed the monsters Wu Hui dispatched were also counted towards her.
The game rules clearly encouraged cooperation, or rather, encouraged them to form several groups for confrontation.
There were 127 dice left. Five people remained.
1. Blond, dead
2. Chubby boy, male, 850 points, square 57
3. Wu Hui, 450 points, square 46
4. Tobacco-scented uncle, dead
5. Girl in white, dead
6. Ren Yin, 550 points, square 37
7. Silent young man, 50 points, square 42
8. Li Xiaoyue, 650 points, square 48
