Chapter 135: The Crown Prince Goes Mad
Gao Cen left shortly after.
Elsewhere, Shen Yibai had already begun his performance on stage. He was singing a love song today, and paired with his unique, inimitable voice, nearly everyone in the bar was intoxicated by the melody.
However, just as the song was nearing its end, the entire bar was suddenly plunged into darkness.
It had actually... lost power.
The moment the lights went out, a wave of chaos erupted in the bar. No one knew what was happening. Jiang Ciyou was taken by surprise as well. The bar had suddenly become pitch black, and logically speaking, such an accident was a once-in-a-century occurrence.
Shen Nuo grumbled from the side, "What is the owner of this place doing, allowing such a low-level error to happen? Once the customers start demanding compensation, they’re going to suffer a massive loss."
In the darkness, Jiang Ciyou merely smiled. She reached out in the dark to grab a glass of wine from the table, intending to take a sip, but suddenly, her wrist was seized. A force pulled at her.
Jiang Ciyou’s reflexive reaction was to resist, but the person seemed intimately familiar with her fighting style. He immediately restrained her other hand and dragged her toward the exit. By this point, Jiang Ciyou already knew who it was. Because of the commotion among the crowd in the dark, she stopped resisting and followed the person’s lead obediently.
Only Shen Nuo seemed to notice something moving: "Youbao, where are you? Where are you going? Take me with you, I’m afraid of the dark..."
Jiang Ciyou was led along the way, not knowing where she was being taken. Soon, she heard the sound of a door opening. She was shoved inside, and the next second, the door slammed shut. Her back was pressed against the door panel.
In the darkness, her lips were precisely captured...
The kiss was hot and ferocious, as if a caged beast had been released, venting its madness in a frenzy of retaliation, destruction, and ruin. His kiss carried an irresistible, overbearing quality, as if he intended to crush and destroy the entire world.
Jiang Ciyou, naturally, would not compromise. A slap landed precisely across Bo Jinxiu’s face.
Bo Jinxiu finally ceased all movement. In the darkness, only his rapid breathing and heartbeat remained.
"Bo Jinxiu, what madness are you indulging in again?"
The next second, the room’s lights flared to life. Jiang Ciyou saw Bo Jinxiu’s eyes, filled with pain and a desperate, forced restraint. Yet, as the light flooded the room, all the complex emotions in the depths of his gaze were instantly hidden away, replaced by an unfathomable calmness and cold indifference.
Seeing him change his expression so quickly, Jiang Ciyou suddenly felt as if she had never truly known him.
"Why are you here?"
Bo Jinxiu stepped back, creating a bit of distance between them. Jiang Ciyou curled her lip in a sneer: "Mr. Bo, you’re overstepping your bounds a bit too much, aren't you?"
Jiang Ciyou had no desire to say another word to him. She turned around, intending to open the door and leave, but her body was pulled back by Bo Jinxiu once more.
"Jiang Ciyou, do you not even have the patience to speak a single sentence to me now?"
A flicker of impatience did indeed flash in Jiang Ciyou’s eyes. "Why should I have patience for a stranger who keeps harassing me? I’m not your mother."
Bo Jinxiu: "..."
Bo Jinxiu’s face tightened, dark as the pre-storm sky. After a while, he let out a soft, dry laugh. "What, found a new lover and forgotten the old one so quickly?"
Jiang Ciyou’s expression shifted instantly, and her voice turned suddenly colder: "What do you mean by that?"
Bo Jinxiu suddenly grabbed Jiang Ciyou’s arm. "Jiang Ciyou, you were flirting with the bar’s resident singer, clinking glasses from across the room—don't tell me you two aren't acquainted?"
Bo Jinxiu was testing the waters. Although he was almost certain in his heart, he didn't want to expose Shen Yibai’s identity to Jiang Ciyou until he had a definitive answer. So, it turned out that when she was at the booth earlier, she had already been under his watch.
Jiang Ciyou laughed instead. "So what if I know him? So what if we were flirting? Is that any of your business?"
From beginning to end, Jiang Ciyou maintained an expression that said it had nothing to do with him. This caused a pressure to build up inside Bo Jinxiu, steadily expanding.
"Jiang Ciyou, I won’t control you, but we did sleep in the same bed for three years, after all. Naturally, I don’t want to see you jump into a fire pit. Anyone else would be fine, but not him."
A flash of confusion crossed Jiang Ciyou’s eyes, followed by a sense of amusement. She casually tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. "Bo Jinxiu, stop acting all righteous and like you're doing this for my own good, okay? I don’t need it. Who I date, hold hands with, kiss, or even go to bed with has absolutely nothing to do with you anymore. If you’re not afraid of getting your head cracked open again, feel free to keep harassing me."
Jiang Ciyou’s words stung Bo Jinxiu. "Hold hands? Kiss? Go to bed? Have you already thought about going that far?"
Jiang Ciyou found it utterly ridiculous. She had no idea what was going on in this man’s head, but she couldn't be bothered to waste another word on him. "Bo Jinxiu, let me go. You should know you can't beat me."
Bo Jinxiu had witnessed her throw a one-hundred-eighty-three-centimeter Yan Feng over her shoulder. He had also seen her casually dislocate Jiang Xiaoxiao’s jaw. Yet, he still did not let go.
"Jiang Ciyou, do you even know who he is?"
Bo Jinxiu’s voice was so cold that even his breath seemed to carry a layer of frost. Jiang Ciyou vaguely sensed something was amiss, but she couldn't be sure.
"Bo Jinxiu, what exactly are you trying to say?"
Bo Jinxiu pulled her by the hand. "Come with me."
Jiang Ciyou shook off his hand. "I can walk myself."
However, in the end, Jiang Ciyou still followed behind Bo Jinxiu. In truth, she had already vaguely guessed a part of it in her heart, though she didn't know if her guess was accurate. Bo Jinxiu was acting insane because he saw the interaction between her and Yibai. Bo Jinxiu knew Yibai, and his identity was clearly not simple. Otherwise, he wouldn't have said those things.
Outside, the lights were bright. Jiang Ciyou also guessed that the sudden power outage might have been Bo Jinxiu’s doing. But why would he go to such lengths? What kind of identity did Yibai have that could make Bo Jinxiu almost lose control? A spark of curiosity ignited in her heart.
Bo Jinxiu had taken her into one of the bar’s private rooms. Shortly after coming back out, they returned to the main hall of the bar. By now, the place was fully illuminated.
Shen Nuo was still in their original booth, calling Jiang Ciyou’s phone incessantly. As she looked up, she saw Jiang Ciyou walking in. She quickly stood up and headed over.
"Youbao, where did you go? I thought you’d been kidnapped."
As she turned, she suddenly spotted Bo Jinxiu following close behind. Shen Nuo put on a roguish look and huffed: "So you really were kidnapped."
After saying that, she stepped forward and hooked her arm around Jiang Ciyou’s shoulder: "Well? You didn't come out on the losing end, did you?"
